My Philosophy of Education
As an educator it is my goal to instill a passion for learning in each student’s life that I encounter. To successfully stimulate this passion for learning in students, it is my belief that learning should be exciting, an environment where children are immersed with stimuli and print rich material; meaningful, the materials should relate to the world around them; and challenging, activities should allow students to think critically and provide opportunities to apply knowledge already imparted. In order for this to happen the teacher must be reflective and set realistic goals for instruction as well as student performance. By analyzing student data, utilizing standards based lessons, and collaborating with my colleagues I can ensure that my students are receiving a quality education. Furthermore, the classroom community should be positive, nurturing, and encourage children to take appropriate risks as well as aid in self-discovery. In our global society it is also important to create an inclusive classroom community that addresses the needs of diverse learners.
